Here Comes Outing No. 2 !!
Mahjong Session @ Nim's Place

Before you know it, lamp posts have again embarked on another quest to “master” the art of MAHJONG! Sunrise University’s School of Gaming is where the newly introduced mahjong module MJ1001 is conducted, which is actually none other than Nim’s home at Sunrise Drive! HAHA! ;)

We had a very interesting and fun evening lecture conducted by our mahjong “shi fu” (aka master) - *drum roll* Prof NIM !! Nim had really surprised us (especially me) that he knew a lot about mahjong despite being non-chinese.

Also, I must commend that Aizat and Julian, who are new to mahjong, had been excellent apprentices and managed to master mahjong in such a short time! Especially Aizat, who couldn’t even recognize chinese characters and had some trouble deciphering pictures and the number of bamboos and circles on the tiles. (laughs..) For those who knew basic mahjong, they had also gained new knowledge of the game. And it’s all thanks to our excellent and patient ‘shi fu’… Lets us all give Nim many rounds of applause! (claps + whistles). Well I must say we are indeed a bunch of TALENTED lamp posts – not only in ACTING and ROLLER-BLADING but also MAHJONG now!! HAHA !

Although we had pizza for dinner, learning mahjong had drained some energy in us. Therefore… SUPPER was up next! P..R..A..T..A!! Weee! We had sardine and REMIX prata ! Have you heard of it?! HAHA! All of us hadn’t…But basically remix prata is a huge prata with a mixture of ingredients like chicken, egg etc.. sounds like rojak isn’t it? HAHA! But it tasted delicious actually just that we did not had enough “space” in our stomach to finish all of them.

After which, the remaining lamp posts – Nim, Jo and I went back to sunrise uni to continue our mahjong session until next morning although by that time I was only half awake and actually dozing off during the game :s HAA!

And yes! It’s morning! Home Sweet Home!!

Alright everyone..lamp post Audrey has no more energy.. signing off now. Till we meet again at lamp posts’ next outing bye byez! *lights off*

ps: very sorry for the late post everyone

Outing No. 1
Rollerblading @ ECP

Lamp posts' decision to embark on an exercise regime was definitely a right decision made! *blink blink* Much thanks to jo for organizing, and the time you took to draw your little "map" of who's free and who's not, as well as those who took time off to attend our first lamp posts outing! Julian especially, who’s willing to skip part of his camp to join us. yay (:

And so roller blading we went! I am proud to announce that we emerged quite victorious. Other than sore bums, aching ankles and CRAZY HAIR, we had quite a bit of fun gallivanting around east coast park!

It was definitely a refreshing experience for me as it was my maiden roller blading session (as well as nim's!). I tried putting on the blades several times previously, but was unable to advance any further other than having the blades on, breaking in cold sweat and staying at the same spot. Luckily this time round, I have supportive buddies to guide me along, and now I’m getting a hang of it and I am not shy to say i am now a PRO in terms of getting up myself after a fall. *winks* HAHA!

And i must commend, we are indeed a bunch of ON and EFFICIENT lamp posts. we are really prompt to arrange our next meet up. It’s this coming Friday! That’s like so super soon! 2 days from now! 40 hours to be exact. We’ll be staying overnight at nim’s place, some mahjong, movies and popcorn! Yipee~

Final Day!

Where have the rest of our team members gone to? Its as though our Lamp post just shrunk in size! Oh man... Miss you guys.

It was quite a slow moving final day. You just feel as though time is lagging past you. Maybe we were suffering of some camp syndrome after three days of havoc. We were introduced to the projects under NVAC. Didn't know NVAC has that many projects under its care. So many projects but so little time. Suggestion is we visit alllll.... the projects and then decide on one of them.

After which we have our reflection session. Ya.. very reflecting indeed. You can actually see the same drowsy faces everywhere. Hm... though it is meaningful, some of us are falling a sleep. Remind me of the many lectures that we have been through in school ( Yawwn*).

But hey! Look at the bright side! We actually won something! Yeah! Thanks to all the effort we put in as a team. Great job Lamp post! We would like to specially thank Julian for taking the role of "Lucy", which is quite a challenge for him. Look at what we are holding in our hands, Julian! It's a starbucks voucher! Hahaha! We will let you have the biggest portion of the coffee when we use the voucher to buy one.

Overall a really fun camp. We had a very good experience and memories to bring back. Good Job for the comm members! Thank you for putting all your effort to make this a successful camp. And Lamp post! Let our light continue to shine our way to a very very bright future! CHEERs!

Day 3 Con't

Yesh!! Finally the event that we have all been waiting for! Yesh! It's the Dinner and Dance! We were all dressed up nicely for the night. The lamp post guys become cool and handsome while the girls become beautiful and sexy.

Unfortunately, 1 of our member, the beloved Aizat, fell sick and was unable to make... But don't worry Aizat! We didn't forget about you. We left one empty seat as a representative of your absence. You will always be one of the Lamp post!! Yea!

It was one of the most luxurious DnD we have ever been. A small ballroom in a hotel with just 5 tables for all the people in the camp. Great atmosphere accompanied with great food and music. Especially the food which I have to comment about. They are really really good. Too bad we have small stomach. It would be nice if they let us "Da Pao" the food back.....

Anyway, we pulled of our skit very well during the skit performing segment for our team. Julian did very well with his act as our dear "Lucy" (giggle**) and Nim as our friendly little lion (RWAR!). If not for them, we may not have won the best skit award. Let's give them around of applause! (Clap! everyone).

We ended the night with our SP game and dance! I would like to commend about my team for having the most members to survive the SP game for a very long time. Although in the end none of us won the best SP award, it was a fun filled segment. I believe all of us enjoyed and was totally into the indian dance. My first indian dance to boot. Now everyone can show off their friends that we know indian dance. Oh Yea!

However, our dear Julian have to leave us at the end of the day because he got some church activities (~sad~).

Day 3

What time is it? It's volunteering time!

Yes! We are going to the zoo this time to meet the Minds kids. Oh so exciting! Can't wait to see them!

The Minds kids were accompanied by their own volunteers and parents while we observe and learn from them. It is a fruitful day indeed as we lamp post joined the Minds kids for a tour at the zoo. I bet many of us have not been to the zoo of ages and have not seen a live tiger or elephant for a long time. We were awed by how much the zoo has changed. Some of us even chanced upon monkeys and elephants doing the you know what! Hahaha.. ya very digusting and I was eating my lunch at that time. Feel like puking. Well that's nature.

We did a lot of walking and along the way interact with the kids. They are actually not difficult to get along with the exceptions of one or two. We had a great time with them in the zoo knowing each other and showing true to our heart the positive side of we humans. They touched our heart and bring out the inner goodness from us. What a wonderful experience that was!

Everything turns out well until drizzle start pouring down. Fortunately we manage to reach the shelter in time. It was lunch time by then and everyone's stomach groaning. There was a bit of delay in the distributing of the lunch because of some problem but manage to get our fill in the end. We had some tidbits brought by some of the parents so we still can endure a bit. The rain goes on for quite sometime and by the time it stop, its already time for the minds kids to leave.

Day 2

Knock knock! Wake up! On the lamp post now!
Rise and shine!

Great! We have 2 new members add on to our team! Let's welcome them! (everyone clap! clap!)

Today is a day of sign language. Learning sign language has never been so much fun. The very popular "happy" and "Sunday" are top on our our list. Every where we go, we show "happy" all the way. And yea, its been a very happy day for all of us alright. We go random at almost every stop in our amazing race. We took random pictures at random places with random backdrop. Very unique indeed. Yeah! We are the lamp post man! And that's the way we are! Ahaha! Don't mess with us!

So our amazing race ended up as a sight seeing outing for all of us. We lamp post are the coolest of the lot. We took leisure walk to our stops. It was cool until we reach Sentosa beach. Imagine we have to look for a person from that long stretch of beach! Luckily we got our "happy" sign language to keep ourselves in happy mood and continue to stroll down that stretch of beach.
After a long search, we decided to wait for the next activity at the gathering place.

The ultimate Frisbee, the finale of the day. This is where our lamp post shines the brightest. We showed them we are not to be looked down on as we battle our way from 3-0 to 5-4. Great job team! I bet the other team was blinded by our combined brightness from our lamp post.

Day 1

From strangers to friends, this is a day of friendship and team building. We break the ice through games and forfeit. A terrible time for some of us who got the forfeit and a great time for those who escaped from doing any.

Anyway, every minute of the camp is fun. I mean we all come from different faculty, taking different course and even have someone who is going to study in a different school. We got old and the young ones. And we got all the pretty girls and handsome guys (Oh yeah! ;p) . What an amazing group of people in a totally awesome team!

The "lamp post" team name shall stay as unique as ever.

Look at those smile! :D And look at those teeth! Wonder why they have such bright white teeth? Aren't you envious how we smile so confidently?! Simply because lamp post has their own dentists! I bet other teams regret joining our team now hahaha!

I am proud to say that our team is one of the most creative one throughout the team building games session. If not for the rules and regulations.. we could have won! I mean rules are meant to be bent, Right team?! Anyway, great job for the other teams too.

The super complicated real life RPG game. Very tiring with so many running away and chasing. And not to mention the irritating paper which is our life line that keeps dropping off for most of us. The whole game looks like a catching game with additional rules and elements add into it. However at the end of it, everyone of us still have some fun out of it. So do not be disappointed for the programmers! You all have done a good job in sticking to your own plan! We lamp post will help shine your path brighter.

What a fun and tired day! The lamp post got no more power... have to off the lights now.

At The Beginning....

Once upon a time in the magical world of Juxtapose 08 echoes a cheer in the far away mountains...

Lamp post! Lamp post! Blink! Blink! Blink!
Lamp post! Lamp post! Shine our way!
Lamp post! Lamp post! All the way!
Boom!

And the source of the echoes happens to come from a group of strange looking travelers, walking through the long forgotten forest. And in the midst of their journey, they came across a weird looking lamp post wearing an oversized wizard hat. Its light went brighter and brighter as they moved closer to it and in a whirlpool of spiraling light, the travelers were changed into lamp posts.

And this is how the story begins.
